Marks the position of the centre of gravity of the packaging unit — important for transport, crane slinging and safe storage.

ISO 780
The internationally standardised pictograms for handling shipping packaging (ISO 780). They instruct logistics and warehouse staff how a packaging may be transported, stored and stacked — language-independent and unambiguous. All 17 symbols with explanation and download.

Marks the permitted slinging points for lifting gear (chains, ropes, straps). Relevant for large or heavy packaging moved by crane or hoist.

Marks the sides where clamp trucks may be applied. The arrows show the correct clamping direction. Complements ISO 780-07.
ISO 7000 · No. 0631
The two arrows indicate the correct orientation of the packaging — this side must face up.
ISO 7000 · No. 0623
The classic — the “wine glass” symbol. Indicates fragile contents. Handle with care during transport, handling and storage.

The “umbrella” symbol — keep the packaging dry and protect it from rain and high humidity.

Protect the packaging from heat sources and direct sunlight.

Protect the packaging from radioactive sources — penetrating radiation can damage or spoil the contents.

Marks the permitted temperature range for storage and transport. The specific values are added next to the symbol.
Prohibits the use of hand hooks to move the packaging. Prevents damage to the packaging or its contents from point loads.
ISO 7000 · No. 0622
Prohibits placing a hand trolley or sack truck against the marked side. Used where that side is pressure-sensitive or where load stability would be at risk.
ISO 7000 · No. 0629
Prohibits the use of a forklift truck on the marked side. Typical for packaging without a pallet or with a sensitive base.
ISO 7000 · No. 2406
Prohibits clamping with clamp trucks on the marked sides. Used where only certain sides are suitable for clamp handling.
ISO 7000 · No. 2404
Prohibits rolling or tilting the packaging. For sensitive contents that would be damaged by rolling or tipping.
ISO 7000 · No. 2405
Prohibits stacking the packaging altogether — not even one further layer on top. For very sensitive or dimensionally unstable packaging.
ISO 7000 · No. 2402
Maximum stacking load in kg — the packaging may only be loaded with the stated weight (XX kg).
ISO 7000 · No. 0630
Maximum stacking height as a number of units (n) — stack no more than n identical packages on top of each other. Complements ISO 780-15 (limit by number instead of weight).
